Hurricane Harvey disrupts oil operations along the US Gulf
Hurricane Harvey, which is expected to make landfall between Houston and Corpus Christi on Friday, is swiftly intensifying into potentially the biggest hurricane to hit mainland US in 12 years, Reuters reported. So far, four oil refineries with a combined capacity to process 840K b/d of crude (nearly 10% of the refining capacity in Texas/Louisiana) have been shut, and around 167K b/d of crude production capacity has been disrupted, Reuters reports, citing the US government. Meanwhile, ports from Corpus Christi to Texas City are currently closed to incoming vessels.
