Preliminary US Steel Import Data for February
US steel imports fell 0.1 Mt year-on-year in February to 2.3 Mt, according to preliminary data from the US Census Bureau. Increased shipments from Brazil (+0.3 Mt to 0.5 Mt) somewhat mitigated losses elsewhere, such as from Russia and South Korea.

Australian Iron Ore Exports in January
Australian iron ore exports (wet basis) fell on an annual basis in January by 1.2 Mt to 67.3 Mt, the Australian Bureau of Statistics reports. The fall in exports featured a year-on-year drop in shipments to China (-0.7 Mt to 56.4 Mt) and Japan (-1.5 Mt to 4.3 Mt).
Australian Coal Exports in January
Australian exports of all coal types increased by 1.3 Mt year-on-year in January to 33.4 Mt, the Australian Bureau of Statistics reports. Coking coal shipments fell by 0.3 Mt annually to 15.4 Mt. Meanwhile, steam coal exports rose by 1.6 Mt to 18.0 Mt.
