China's Coking Coal Imports Lowest Since 2012

Chinese coking coal imports fell to their lowest level since September 2012 in March at 3.0 Mt, down 20.9% year-on-year, according to China Customs data. Imports of steam coal and anthracite combined totalled 8.7 Mt, up from February's 7.5 Mt, but still down 42% year-on-year. Overall, China imported 17.0 Mt of coal in March (incl. lignite), down 43% year-on-year.
