Chinese Iron Ore Imports Rise as Soyabean Shipments Hit All-Time High

Chinese iron ore imports rose to 86.1 Mt in July, up 3.6 Mt year-on-year and approaching the all-time high of 86.8 Mt achieved in January 2014, according to preliminary data from China Customs. July also saw a year-to-date high for China's coal imports, of 21.3 Mt, however, 1h15 imports were down by 60.3 Mt year-on-year at 99.9 Mt. China's soyabean imports climbed to an all-time high of 9.5 Mt in July, up 2.0 Mt year-on-year, while steel exports rose by 1.7 Mt to their highest level since January at 9.7 Mt.
