US Coal Exports Fall
US coal exports (excl. cargoes to Canada) in June slumped to their lowest level since November 2009 at 4.5 Mt, down 2.7 Mt year-on-year, as exports to the EU fell by a third to 1.9 Mt, according to official data. This decline was primarily due to a drop in coking coal shipments, with exports to the EU down 0.9 Mt year-on-year to 1.3 Mt, while cargoes to all destinations fell by 1.8 Mt to 3.1 Mt. Steam coal exports declined by 0.9 Mt in June to 1.4 Mt.
