US Coal Exports
Coal
US coal exports (excl. cargoes to Canada) rose to 4.7 Mt in October, although this was still down by 1.8 Mt year-on-year, according to National Mining Association data. The main reason for this decline was a sharp drop in coking coal exports (-1.9 Mt year-on-year at 2.8 Mt), with shipments to Europe down by nearly half on October 2014 at 1.5 Mt. Steam coal exports rose slightly to 1.9 Mt from the previous month. Exports of steam coal in January-October were down by 4.0 Mt on the same period in 2014 at 20.7 Mt.
