Chinese Iron Ore Imports Breakdown

China imported 80.2 Mt of iron ore in April, of which 84%was sourced from Australia (51.4 Mt) and Brazil (15.7 Mt), with shipments from both countries up year-on-year, according to China Customs data. This is the highest proportion of monthly imports to come from the two countries ever. In contrast, imports from South Africa (3.7 Mt), Iran (1.4 Mt) and West Africa (1.4 Mt) all fell year-on-year.
