IGC Wheat Trade Forecast Update

In its latest forecasts for world grain trade the International Grain Council (IGC) has increased its prediction for Russian wheat exports in 2015/16 (Jul/Jun) by 2.4 Mt to 21.0 Mt as a result of the removal of a wheat export tax. The forecast for EU wheat exports remains unchanged at 29.8 Mt, down from the record 32.9 Mt expected in 2014/15 but still making it the single largest exporter. Meanwhile, there have been downgrades to the US (-0.6 Mt to 24.9 Mt), Australian (-0.6 Mt to 18.4 Mt) and Canadian (-1.0 Mt to 22.0 Mt) export forecasts.
