Chinese Premier Indicates GDP Growth Target

According to Chinese media, quoted by Reuters, President Xi Jinping has stated China can maintain annual economic growth of around 7% over the next five years and that average growth over this period would need to be no lower than 6.5% if China were to meet its target of doubling 2010 GDP per capita income by 2020. The President was also quoted saying that development over the next five years would focus on the quality, as well as pace, of growth. China's GDP growth rate slipped to 6.9% in the 3q15 however, the country remains on track to reach its 2015 target of �around 7%�.
