Further Falls in World Steel Prices

Steel

The Western European domestic price for hot rolled band (HRB) fell sharply in the period 16-30 September, dropping $13/t to $403/t, its lowest level since December 2003, according to the latest SteelBenchmarker from World Steel Dynamics. There were also falls of $7/t and $4/t in the US and Chinese domestic HRB prices, to $490/t and $261/t, respectively. These declines contributed to a $9/t fall in the world export price for HRB to a near twelve-year low of $324/t.
