China and Myanmar Reach Agreement Over Pipeline
Oil
China and Myanmar have reached an agreement on an oil pipeline which runs between the two countries, Reuters reports, citing a statement from Chinese vice foreign minister Liu Zhenmin. The project will allow crude oil to be imported from the Bay of Bengal through to a new 260K b/d refinery in Yunnan province, China. The pipeline had been sitting empty for two years amid ongoing negotiations between the two countries.
