Coal, Iron Ore

Australian iron ore exports dropped to a four-month low of 70.4 Mt (wet basis) in June, down by 1.0 Mt year-on-year, Australian Bureau of Statistics data show.  Meanwhile, Australia’s coal exports climbed to a year-to-date high of 32.1 Mt in June, although they were still 1.2 Mt below the year-ago level. At 177.0 Mt, coal exports in January-June were 13.0 Mt lower than the 1h16, as shipments of both coking coal (-12.9 Mt to 80 Mt) and steam coal (-0.1 Mt to 97.0 Mt) declined.
