Chinese iron ore imports from Australia rose to a four-month high of 57.3 Mt in January, up 7.2 Mt year-on-year, customs data show. By contrast, there was a small 0.6 Mt drop in imports from Brazil, to 18.4 Mt, although shipments from the two combined still accounted for over 82% of China’s January iron ore imports. Meanwhile, Chinese imports of Indian iron ore continued their resurgence in January, climbing 2.6 Mt to a four and a half year high of 3.4 Mt.
