Colombian steam coal exports dropped to a ten-month low of 6.5 Mt in January, down 0.4 Mt year-on-year and 1.9 Mt month-on-month, according to IHS Energy. Within this, there was a sharp shift in the major destinations for Colombian coal shipments. Exports to Europe dropped by 1.4 Mt year-on-year to the lowest level since April 2016 at 3.6 Mt, while shipments to the Americas climbed to an eight-month high of 2.5 Mt, up 0.7 Mt.
