Japanese Steel Exports Breakdown for full year 2016

Of the 41.2 Mt of steel exported from Japan in the whole of 2016, 31.6 Mt were shipped to destinations in Asia, barely changed from the previous year, with exports to South Korea at almost 7.0 Mt as the top destination, according to the Japan Iron and Steel Federation. Steel shipments to South America reached above 3.0 Mt for a second consecutive year, climbing to an annual record 3.4 Mt, while exports to the Middle East and North America both declined 17% year-on-year, at 1.5 Mt and 2.3 Mt, respectively.
