Chinese HRB Price Rises Sharply

The Chinese domestic price for hot rolled band (HRB) surged to the highest level since mid-March at $449/t in the two weeks to 12 July, up by $26/t, according to the latest SteelBenchmarker from World Steel Dynamics. The Chinese HRB price has now increased by $45/t in less than a month. There were more modest increase, of $11/t and $3/t, in the Western European and US HRB prices over the same two weeks to $559/t and $672/t, respectively.
