Hot Rolled Band Prices Climb Higher

The Chinese domestic price for hot rolled band (HRB) increased by $19/t in the two weeks to 26 July to the highest level since the start of March at $468/t, almost $150/t above the year-ago level, according to the latest SteelBenchmarker from World Steel Dynamics. There were also gains of $9/t and $14/t in the US and Western European HRB prices over the same period, to $681/t and $573/t, respectively. This helped lift the world export price for HRB to $491/t.
