Indian Iron Ore Shipments Rise Sharply in 1h17

Iron ore throughput at the major publicly owned Indian ports increased by 60% year-on-year in the 1h17 to 30.3 Mt, according to the Indian Ports Association, as shipments were boosted by robust international demand and the restart of mining in Goa. Iron ore throughput dropped to a year-to-date low of 2.9 Mt in July as the monsoon season slowed the production and transportation of ore, but, this was still up by 34% year-on-year.
