Brazilian Iron Ore and Soya Exports in May

After a weak month in April, Brazilian iron ore exports rebounded to 35.1 Mt in May, up by 1.1 Mt year-on-year, government data show. At 150.2 Mt iron ore exports in January-May were up by 1.9 Mt on the same period in 2016.
Meanwhile, the country’s soya exports (beans & meal) climbed to a record 12.6 Mt in May, up by 0.7 Mt year-on-year, trade data show. Brazilian soya exports have now risen on an annual basis in every month this year, with combined shipments up by 3.3 Mt on the same period in 2016 at 41.0 Mt.
