Queensland Coal Exports Rebound in May
Coal
After exporting just 7.5 Mt of coal in April, when shipments were disrupted by Cyclone Debbie, coal exports from the four Queensland ports of Hay Point, Dalrymple Bay, Gladstone and Abbot Point rebounded to 16.3 Mt in May, port authority data show. Nevertheless, this was still down by 2.8 Mt year-on-year. At 73.4 Mt, coal exports from the four terminals in January-May were down by 13.7 Mt on the same period last year.
