South Korean steel exports rose by 20.9% year-on-year in the first two months of the year to 5.4 Mt, according to the Korean Iron and Steel Association. Similarly, Brazilian steel exports increased by 19.4% over the same period to 2.4 Mt, the Instituto Aço Brasil reports, while the country’s crude steel output rose by 5.7% to 2.6 Mt in February. By contrast, EU steel exports, reported by Eurofer, dropped to an eight-year low of 1.5 Mt in January, down by 5.0% year-on-year.
