Two-Year High for US Steel Imports

US steel imports climbed to a two-year high of 3.1 Mt in April, up by 0.9 Mt year-on-year, lifted by strong annual growth in shipments from Russia and Turkey, according to preliminary import licence data from the US Census Bureau. At 11.2 Mt, US steel imports increased by 2.2 Mt annually in the first four months of 2017.
