Eleven-Month High for Canadian Iron Ore Exports to China

Lifted by an eleven-month high for shipments to China (+0.8 Mt to 1.1 Mt), Canada exported 3.7 Mt of iron ore in September (excl. cargoes to the US), up by 0.6 Mt year-on-year, according to the Tex Report. By contrast, shipments to Europe fell to a three-month low of 1.4 Mt, although still up by 0.2 Mt year-on-year. At 29.2 Mt, iron ore exports to all destinations in January-September were down by 0.7 Mt on the same period last year.
