Eni’s Goliat Field to Remain Shut until Safety Verification
Oil
Norway’s Oil Safety Authority must carry out a complete safety verification process at Eni’s Goliat Platform, before output can be restarted, Reuters reports. The 100K b/d oilfield has been closed since 6 October, when Norway’s safety regulator shut it down due to safety issues related to the platform’s explosion-proof electric motors. The deadline for fixing this problem has been set to March 1 2018. Norway’s current production stands at about 1.6M b/d.
