Strong Brazilian Iron Ore and Grain Exports in October

After a weaker month for shipments in September, Brazilian iron ore exports climbed to a seven-month high of 35.3 Mt in October, up by 5.3 Mt year-on-year, official data show. At 316.6 Mt, shipments in the January-October were 9.3 Mt higher than the same period last year.
From a 21-month high of 5.9 Mt in September, Brazilian corn exports retreated to 5.0 Mt in October, although still up by 3.9 Mt on the same month in 2016 when corn shipments were unseasonably weak. Meanwhile, at 3.8 Mt, the country’s soya (beans & meal) exports for the same month were more than double the year-ago level.
