From 34.1 Mt in August, Brazilian iron ore exports retreated to 31.9 Mt in September, down by 3.4 Mt year-on-year, trade ministry data show. Nevertheless, strong export growth earlier in the year meant shipments in January-September were still up by 4.0 Mt at 281.4 Mt.
Brazil’s corn exports climbed to a 21-month high of 5.9 Mt in September, up by 3.0 Mt year-on-year and marking the fifth consecutive month of annual growth in shipments. Meanwhile, the country’s soya exports (beans & meal) continued their seasonal decline in September, dropping to 5.4 Mt, although this was still more than double the year-ago level.
