Exxon Coking Unit Restored, All Refinery Units in Operation
ExxonMobil Corp was running all production units on Wednesday at its 362,000 b/d Beaumont Texas Refinery, for the first time since Hurricane Harvey forced the plant to close, newswires report. Portions of the refinery were flooded by coke sludge on August 30 causing its shutdown. The refinery reopened on 15 September, however its 45,000 b/d coking unit remained shut causing the plant to operate at reduced production levels. As of Wednesday morning, all restart activities were carried out successfully and the coking unit was fully restored, completing its first 24-cycle run.
