Japan’s Domestic Oil Sales In July Fall To 32 Year-Low, But Imports Still Rise

Japan’s domestic oil sales in July fell by around 34K b/d y-o-y to 2.79M b/d, the lowest volume for that month in 32 years, Reuters reports, citing data from the country’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). However, despite the fall in domestic oil demand, Japan’s crude oil imports in July still increased by around more than 200K b/d y-o-y to 3.35M b/d.
