South African Coal Exports at 12-Month Low in July
South African coal exports (incl. anthracite) slumped to the lowest level in a year at 4.9 Mt in July, slightly above the year-ago level, IHS Energy reports. The weakness in July shipments was primarily due to sharply lower exports to India, which fell by 0.7 Mt to a six-month low of 1.7 Mt. South Africa exported 45.2 Mt of coal to all destinations in January-July, up 4.4 Mt year-on-year.
