At 25.7 Mt, total Chinese coal imports in October retreated to a six-month low, although were up 2.6 Mt year-on-year, the latest preliminary customs data show. Meanwhile, Chinese iron ore imports experienced a 4.5 Mt annual increase to 92.9 Mt in October, although imports in January-October were still 13.3 Mt below the corresponding period in 2018 at 878.6 Mt. By contrast, inbound shipments of soyabeans fell by 0.7 Mt to the lowest level since March at 6.2 Mt.
