Accident at SASREF Refinery during Maintenance
An explosion occurred on Sunday at Saudi Aramco’s 305K b/d SASREF refinery, which resulted in two contractor fatalities, according to an official company announcement. The incident was caused by a gas leak during turnaround activities. The company said that maintenance work will continue as planned.
The refinery had brought forward a 50-day maintenance initially planned for later in the year, following the attacks on Saudi oil facilities on 14 September.
