Japanese Iron Ore and Coal Imports in March

Provisional data from the Japanese finance ministry show the country’s iron ore imports fell by 14.5% year-on-year to 8.4 Mt in March. This level would be the lowest since June 2009 and extends a trend of annual falls posted in the first two months of 2020.

Meanwhile, coal receipts edged up by 2.1% on the year to 16.0 Mt last month.
