March Vehicle Sales Tumble in China, India

Chinese automobile sales in March extended an annual decline posted in each consecutive month since June 2018, falling by 48.4% to just over 1.0 million vehicles, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. This was the second lowest monthly sales total since July 2011 after just 0.2 million vehicles were sold in February, a 15-year low.

Meanwhile, Indian vehicle sales plunged by 45.0% year-on-year to below 1.1 million units in March, according to data from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers reported by local media.
