Western Australia Temporarily Closes Border

In a bid to limit the spread of the coronavirus, from 5 April 23:59 local time Western Australia’s border will be temporarily closed, the state government has announced. Exemptions will be made for fly-in fly-out (FIFO) workers however, a 14-day self-isolation period will be required upon arrival. Local media estimate that around 3,000-3,500 of WA’s total 45,000 FIFO workers reside outside WA. The duration of the border closure was not specified.
