Ampol’s Lytton oil refinery to restart in September

Australia’s largest fuel supplier Ampol has announced plans to resume operations from its Lytton oil refinery in September, after production was stopped in May due to the coronavirus pandemic, Reuters reports. Planned maintenance at the refinery, which was previously due to start in July, was brought forward and extended in response to diminishing market conditions and weakened profit margins. The company expects that full production capacity of around 110K b/d will be reached by early October, adding that they will continue to review performance at the refinery once operations restart.
