Canadian, US Coal Exports in June

Canadian coking coal exports (excluding cargoes to the US) fell by 0.8 Mt year-on-year to 2.3 Mt in June, although 1h20 shipments were up 1.6 Mt to 17.9 Mt, data collected by IHS show. Meanwhile, steam coal exports edged up by 0.3 Mt to 0.4 Mt in June, boosting 1h20 volumes to 1.7 Mt from 0.3 Mt in the same period of 2019.
Nearby, US coking coal shipments (excluding those to Canada) more than halved year-on-year to 2.1 Mt in June, while steam coal declined by 0.7 Mt to 1.8 Mt, according to IHS. Exports in the 1h20 for coking and steam coal dropped to 17.9 Mt (-7.1 Mt) and 12.5 Mt (-6.5 Mt), respectively.
