Japanese steel exports fell by 0.5 Mt on the year to 2.4 Mt in June, data from the Japan Iron and Steel Federation show. However, a strong 1q meant shipments rose to 17.1 Mt in the 1h20 from 16.3 Mt in the same months of 2019.

Nearby, South Korean steel exports inched down by less than 0.1 Mt to 2.4 Mt in June, according to the Korea Iron and Steel Association, while January-June loadings declined by 1.2 Mt on the year to 14.0 Mt.
