South Korean Coal Imports in July
South Korean steam coal (including anthracite) imports rose to a year-to-date high of 9.9 Mt in July, according to data gathered by IHS. However, arrivals were down 1.5 Mt year-on-year, with receipts in the first seven months of 2020 dropping 7.9 Mt to 58.5 Mt.
Meanwhile, the country’s coking coal imports inched up by less than 0.1 Mt on the year to 1.5 Mt last month. January-July receipts eased 0.7 Mt to 12.2 Mt.
