Global Steel Output Grows in November

World crude steel production rose by 6.6% year-on-year in November to 158.3 Mt, data from the World Steel Association (worldsteel) reveal.
In China, steel output growth rose by 8.0% to 87.7 Mt. Meanwhile, growth in the world, excluding China, rose on an annual basis for the second successive month, up 5.0% to 70.6 Mt.
Production also increased in India (+3.5% to 9.2 Mt) and the EU/UK (+5.5% to 12.8 Mt). Meanwhile Vietnamese steel output climbed above 4.0 Mt for the first time in November, up 166.7% annually.
However, output declined in Japan (-5.9% to 7.3 Mt), South Korea (-2.4% to 5.8 Mt) and the US (-13.7% to 6.1 Mt).
