Indonesian Coal and Bauxite Exports in October

Indonesian coal exports (including lignite) climbed to a seven-month high of 32.1 Mt in October, Bank Indonesia data show. However, this was still down by 8.8 Mt year-on-year leaving shipments in January-November 54.6 Mt below the same period in 2019 at 328.6 Mt.

Meanwhile, the country’s bauxite loadings posted their first annual fall since exports recommenced in 2017, down 0.3 Mt to 1.3 Mt in October. However, gains earlier in the year brought year to date shipments up to 16.9 Mt (+4.9 Mt).
