Japanese Iron Ore and Coal Imports Drop in November

Japanese iron ore imports declined 14.6% year-on-year to 8.6 Mt in November, provisional data from the finance ministry reveal. Annual contraction posted in each month since May has brought receipts in the first 11 months of 2020 down 18.8% to 89.2 Mt.

Meanwhile, the country’s coal imports fell to 14.5 Mt last month (-6.9%), with year to date arrivals down 6.1% to 158.4 Mt.
