Chinese HRB Price Extends Fall

The Chinese hot-rolled band (HRB) price declined to $421/t on 24 February, down by $24/t from the previous two weeks to the lowest level since June 2017, according to the latest SteelBenchmarker from World Steel Dynamics. China’s HRB price has lost $46/t since the first 2020 SteelBenchmarker report on 15 January.
The US domestic HRB price fell by $15/t in the two-weeks to 24 February to $635/t. The Western European HRB price was down by $10/t over the same period to $481/t.
