US Steel Imports Double in January

US steel imports nearly doubled month-on-month to 2.8 Mt in January, according to preliminary data from the US Census Bureau. Strong January receipts from Brazil, which hit 1.1 Mt, boosted overall imports to the highest level in nine-months.

However, US steel imports last month still declined by 0.3 Mt year-on-year.
