Motiva Port Arthur Refinery Units to Undergo Overhaul

Oil

Motiva Enterprises plans to shut the 81K b/d gasoline-producing unit (FCCU) at its 607K b/d Port Arthur refinery in Texas by 16 January, reports Reuters. A 18K b/d alkylation unit and 50K b/d hydrotreater were also scheduled to undergo 30-day overhauls while the FCCU is out of service. The Port Arthur facility is the nation’s largest by capacity.

US Gulf refinery throughput had reached a 4-month high of 9.32M b/d during the last week of December, but was still 226K b/d lower y-o-y, data from the US Energy Information Administration show.

By early afternoon in London, ICE Brent was trading at $68.24/bbl, down $0.67/bbl from the end of Monday’s trading.
