South Korea Coal Imports Climb in December

South Korean coal imports rose 0.6 Mt year-on-year in December to 12.4 Mt, data from IHS reveal. The rise featured a 1.1 Mt increase in steam coal imports (including anthracite) to 10.7 Mt, while inbound shipments of coking coal fell 0.5 Mt to 1.7 Mt. At 141.4 Mt, combined imports of coking and steam coal in 2019 were down 7.3 Mt on the 2018 total.
