On 15 January, the US and China signed a Phase 1 trade deal that would see China increasing purchases of US goods and services in exchange for a rolling back of US tariffs on some Chinese products, Reuters reports. US soyabean and coal exports could benefit from this agreement, however, at time of writing, China has not reduced or waived tariffs on any commodities.
