US Coal Exports Fall in November

At 6.3 Mt, total US coal exports fell by 1.2 Mt year-on-year in November, data from the National Mining Association reveal. Steam coal (including anthracite) exports drove the overall decline, falling 1.3 Mt to 2.6 Mt. Meanwhile outbound shipments of coking coal edged up 0.1 Mt annually to 3.6 Mt. Exports of both coal types combined in the first eleven months of 2019 tumbled 18.0 Mt on the corresponding period in 2018 to 74.1 Mt.
