Indonesian Coal and Bauxite Exports in May

Indonesian coal exports plummeted by 11.7 Mt year-on-year to 29.4 Mt in May, the lowest since June 2017, according to data from Bank Indonesia. Shipments over the first five months of the year tumbled by 19.7 Mt to 176.2 Mt.
Meanwhile, the country’s bauxite exports rose by 0.6 Mt to 1.8 Mt in May, bringing January-May loadings up to 8.7 Mt from 6.1 Mt during the same months in 2019.
