Japan’s Meti Forecasts Weaker Crude Steel Output

Japanese crude steel output is projected to drop by 27.9% year-on-year to 17.7 Mt in July-September, according to the country’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (Meti).
Domestic steel demand is expected to fall by 22.1% to 12.0 Mt in the three months to September, while exports are forecast to decline to 5.3 Mt (-28.6%).
