Port Hedland Iron Ore Exports Climb to Record High in June

Iron ore shipments from Port Hedland surged to a record high of 51.8 Mt in June, rising by 2.9 Mt from the previous peak in June 2019 and 4.0 Mt on the month, data from the Pilbara Ports Authority (PPA) show. Exports are typically boosted in June, the final month of the financial year for exporters BHP and FMG.
Port Hedland exported 270.8 Mt of iron ore in January-June, climbing by 16.1 Mt year-on-year.
Meanwhile, the port of Dampier loaded 12.1 Mt of iron ore last month, up by 0.8 Mt on the year and 1.3 Mt from May. However, 1h20 loadings declined by 3.8 Mt to just over 66.0 Mt.
